April 09, 20232 min read

Konnichiwa! We took an epic family trip to Japan, and we're still buzzing with excitement! From Tokyo to Osaka, Kyoto to Shiga Kogen, we covered a lot of ground and had a blast exploring this incredible country. Here are some highlights from our adventure:

Tokyo: We kicked off our trip in Tokyo, and boy, did we hit the ground running! Our first stop was the vibrant street markets, where we marveled at the colorful stalls selling everything from fresh fish to quirky trinkets. We also couldn't resist a visit to the Pokemon Center, where we stocked up on adorable plushies and trading cards. And of course, no trip to Tokyo is complete without a ride on the trains, which were speedy and efficient (but also a bit overwhelming at times!).

Disneyland and DisneySea: We're a family of Disney fanatics, so we couldn't resist a visit to both of the Disney parks in Tokyo. We rode Space Mountain, met Mickey Mouse, and indulged in all sorts of delicious snacks (the churros were a personal favorite). Both parks had their own unique charm, but we especially loved the nautical theme of DisneySea.

Kyoto: We spent several days in Kyoto, where we marveled at the ancient temples and gardens that make this city such a treasure. We took a day trip to Osaka, which was like stepping back in time. The vibrant street markets were buzzing with energy, and we tried all sorts of new foods (takoyaki, anyone?). We even stumbled upon a traditional tea ceremony! Kyoto also gave us the opportunity to learn about Japanese history and culture, and we tried our hand at calligraphy and made our own Japanese fans.

Shiga Kogen: Our final destination was the snowy wonderland of Shiga Kogen, where we hit the slopes for some snowboarding. We had a blast shredding the powdery snow and taking in the stunning mountain views. Unfortunately, we got snowed in for a couple of days, but we made the most of it by building snowmen and drinking hot cocoa by the fireplace.

All in all, our trip to Japan was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that we'll never forget. We can't wait to see where our travels take us next! Arigato gozaimasu, Japan!
